The BC Bike Race starts at 9 am on Friday July 8th. So people going to the Ducklake cheer zones should be there between 9:30 and 10 am. we will be having several cheer zones.

The first one is on the Aloha trail, with Hawaii music, grass skirts and leis and fluids. If you have some Hawaiian stuff or clothing please bring them along. Last two year we got a smile out of even some of the serious riders. The Spanish Team was impressed by this cheer zone and was in their video of the BC Bike Race.

The second cheer zone will be at the top of the hill on 51 Dodge a short walk in from the road. This cheer zone will be a 50’s theme, with 50’s dress and music. There will be a shelter for shade and a small beverage station. Steve Waghorn will be leading this and can use some help.

We also encourage as many people as possible to cheer the riders on any part of the race course. Of course the more people who come to the formal Cheer Zones will make a lasting impression of the racers.

Besides the cheer zones, we also need some volunteers to pair up and take up stations at critical points along the course. Although the winning time is about 2 hours, many racers could require as much as 6 hours to complete the course so volunteering is a fun way to watch the race but also a time commitment.
